WASHINGTON, D.C. –– Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-25) issued the following statement after the United States banned Meliá Hotels CEO, Gabriel Escarrer, from entering the country in accordance with the Trump administration’s full implementation of Title IV of the Helms-Burton Act.
“This is a prime example of the Trump Administration’s ongoing commitment to protecting Americans whose properties have been confiscated and upholding the rule of law. Unscrupulous businesses who continue to partner with the anti-American, illegitimate, and oppressive regime in Cuba have no right to enjoy the freedoms and opportunities the United States has to offer. This is only the beginning of the Title IV enforcement, and I commend President Trump for this admirable action.”
