Naples, FL
The Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) held a “Day of Conservative Campaign Training” on October 23 at the Naples Conference Center for more than 30 candidates and Republican Party activists. The event was part of the RPOF’s “Build the Bench” initiative to teach “solid conservatives” how to win elections for school board and other local offices.
Florida GOP Chairman Joe Gruters said “we will deliver victories on all levels” when he kicked off a planned series of RPOF-sponsored trainings in another Florida county earlier this month.
Shawn R. Frost, Indian River County Republican State Committeeman and chairman of RPOF’s Build the Bench Committee, gave introductory remarks before closing the GOP portion of the training. Virginia-based Leadership Institute then began a separate “Campaign Management Workshop” at the same location.
Collier GOP State Committeewoman JoAnn DeBartolo worked with RPOF to bring the event to Naples. Collier GOP Chairman Frank Schwerin, who introduced Mr. Frost, called the event a “great success” because of the number of candidates who participated and the level of their enthusiasm. “The situation in our schools is really motivating conservative voters to run for office,” he added.
